Obama Admin's Latest Loathsome Anti-Business/Pro-Union Salvo
The latest outrage relates to its ongoing crusade against US corporations at the behest of its Big Labor patrons. Here it is.
McDonald's says it has been notified by a labor regulator that it can be named as a "joint employer" for workers in its franchise-owned restaurants.
The decision by the National Labor Relations Board was being closely watched because it could potentially expose McDonald's to liability for the working conditions in its franchisees' stores.Mickey D's doesn't pay these workers, it merely sells their bosses burgers and fries and allows them to use it name, brand, and copyrights. Forget that says the NLRB. This is as big a deal, if not bigger, than the NLRB's going after Boeing for, horrors, opening up a plant in South Carolina. If this stands, the effects of it would be seismic across the fast-food industry at first and then all of industry after that (is Apple a "joint employer" of iPhone app developers?). This is every bit the loathsome, overreaching, and vindictive gambit that we've come to expect from Lightworker & Co.
The good news? That Boeing gambit was fought and eventually went nowhere. This will be fought and...well, we'll see.
