Rephrasing the Question: How Stupid Is Joe Manchin?

Interesting question:

Will West Virginia Dem John Manchin vote to confirm Obama’s anti-coal nominee, Ron Binz, to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission?

Well, politically, Manchin has no incentive to cling to Obama any more regardless of what the issue is.  Given that the 2nd Amendment and coal are probably two of the biggest issues in the minds of his constituents, bucking his constituents and siding with Obama again (Manchin went with Obama on gun control earlier this year) on coal is probably the stupidest thing Manchin could do.

But, Washington changes people.  We'll see.
