We Have a Culture that Promotes Stasis

Thoughts on why we can't do great things any more.

I've touched on this before.

And it's not just building things, it's creating art too.  This weekend I listened to Etta James's great song I'd Rather Go Blind.  Does anyone think that an artist could or would write such a song today?  Nobody would for fear of what the American Council for the Blind would do or say and how the culture would react.
