I think as inefficient as the US healthcare system, it is still the best in the world. Am I correct? Perhaps the electorate is telling us that we should not try to fix something that's not broken (yet).
You should read Gratzer's The Cure. He says exactly that...that, strangely, we have the best medical care in the world based on medical outcomes, but yet nobody likes the system. It is an incredible paradox. Crazy thing is that the healthcare system is about the easiest thing to fix. Very simple steps in the reverse direction from where we are heading would vastly fix the problem.
