Federal Workers Are An Anti-Liberty Army

Although Obama is a big part of the problem, in that he wants nearly limitless federal intrusion and sway over our lives, I wrote that Obama is not out putting out cones and Barrycades.  It's the actual federal minions that are doing that, and we are not hearing much in the way of conscientious objections or federal employees expressing their own judgement and opposing the over-the-top shutdown theater.  The problem is that big government is its own constituency.  Ed Morrissey goes deeper into the issue.  More here.

These people are a threat to our liberty. The only ways to lessen the threat is to 1) let them retire and not replace them, which would take about 16 years worth of a truly conservative dominance of the government, or 2) run out of money and therefore have to do mass layoffs.

I suspect it will be the latter although I hope for the former.  But there is a third option though, and that is they win and the behavior of the Park Service of late becomes an everyday part of life in every aspect of life.
