Just But One Small Example

Methanex, a Canadian chemical company with operations all over the world, is relocating one of its methanol plants (yes, it is literally taking a giant plant that looks like this and putting it on boats and reassembling it in Louisiana) to the US to take advantage of the "shale gas boom".

Methanex Corporation...announced today that it has secured land in Geismar, Louisiana, and is planning to move one of its idle methanol plants in Chile to this location. Site-specific engineering has begun and the plant is expected to be operational in the second half of 2014.

The company estimates 1000 jobs associated with the plant construction and 100-200 permanent jobs at the facility long term. More investment and jobs for America and yet our government is actively trying to thwart the development of shale gas...
