Despite a thicket of regulations that no doubt runs to tens of thousands of pages and a small army of bureaucrats, our federal government has been unsuccessful at preventing unsafe toys from being sold. Remember the Chinese-made toys that contained lead a few months ago? Now there is a new toy safety sheriff in town, and its name is Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is blowing past the standards set by the government and you can bet the ranch that the folks in Bentonville will be able to enforce them.
