Manny Mota...Mota...Mota (OK, not a helpful title...this blog is mostly about Economics, the Markets, Politics...and during the football season also about the New York Giants)

Thank You Alistair Darling
New York has regained lost ground to London and is now tied with the British capital as the world's leading financial center. On current course we are poised to pull ahead into sole leadership. This ongoing rivalry for the title is an odd contest where, alternatively, one cedes the the advantage to the other rather than one overtaking the other through raw force of will. We gave up the crown with Sarbanes-Oxley and London has had a good run for nearly ten years, but now the Labour government's class warfare assault on London's financial industry and its workers is handing the mantle back to the Big Apple. And Lord knows we need it, so much thanks to you, Chancellor Darling!
